I would fucking kill for In The Heights. I remember relating so much to the characters like Nina and trying not to cry during Merely Exhale and flat out crying during Paciencia y Fe.

I am surprised that the reviews for this are really positive. I was thinking of checking this out because of my crush on Lily James, but perhaps I will actually savour the flick also? Woot.

If you like Lily and get in with reasonably-set expectations (ie this is dumb escapism that's not pretending to be anything more than than that) IMO you'll accept a expert fourth dimension. She's super charming in information technology and probs. gets the near screen time out of the whole bandage.

I watched Cinderella the other day and I'1000 genuinely surprised Lily managed to turn 1 of the most dull disney princesses into a charming character. That girl is very talented.

Musicals are so weird to me... like why are you singing almost what y'all had for breakfast or any. And they over-emote everything and then much.

I mean why mind to people butcher my favorite songs? And all the ugly men in this motion-picture show jfc. There's nothing joyous well-nigh my ears and eyes beingness assaulted.

Lemme jam to ABBA the way god intended. From my vintage cd actor.

Yes, I am. This movie looks stupid and that scrap in the trailer where Colin Firth says "I told many, many people" is something they did on Sports Night with much ameliorate execution.

I'll never forget when my friends and I saw Mama Mia in the theatre. One of my friends was crying, she was laughing so hard at Pierce Brosnan's singing lmao.

is the singing better than the first picture show at least?

also... it's virtually young donna? is information technology about how she met the guys, didn't they go over that in the first one?

Ohhhh ty. Ngl from the trailers I thought Donna was dead (iirc Sophie says "I don't know how to practice this without my mom"), Sophie was pregnant and they were reflecting on who Donna was lol

It's still not Broadway-level singing for the most office but they did mercifully cut down on the amount of numbers they gave to the completely tone-deaf members of the cast. Pierce Brosnan only has nearly half a song this time and Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard maybe get a couple of lines apiece in during the group numbers.

They let Lily James do the heavy lifting and she has a squeamish vox IMO.
